WASHINGTON, D.C. - This week, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Rajiv Shah will provide keynote remarks for the third Conference to Advance the Human Rights of and Promote Inclusive Development for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Persons at the Department of State. USAID Deputy Administrator Al Lenhardt and Senior LGBT Coordinator Todd Larson will also participate in the conference. The conference will focus on diplomatic and foreign assistance strategies that seek to address human rights violations and abuses that target LGBT persons, and to respond to social and economic exclusion of LGBT persons around the world.
