Islamabad, January 5, 2016 - More than 18,000 temporarily displaced farmers returning to the Federally Administered Tribal Areas recently received agricultural support from the United States Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).  The supplies will help the farmers during the rabi sowing season, allowing them to grow crops and earn an income as well as to feed their own families.

Senior officials from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan held a send-off reception today at the National University of Sciences and Technology for approximately two dozen students and faculty who are departing for a semester abroad at Arizona State University.

The United States Agency for International Development is distributing 23,800 computer tablets through its Pakistan Reading Project to public school teachers of grades 1 and 2 to support teacher training and improved reading instruction in classrooms across Pakistan.
