CityLinks Project

DATES: February 2007 - September 2010

The CityLinks activity (City Management Capacity Building) enhances the ability of provincial capitals to provide public services to citizens by formulating self sustaining activities; builds the capacity of provincial and local government officials to improve delivery of public services (through technical assistance, training programs, and focused exchanges with other cities in the U S and developing countries); increases social participation and promotes responsible citizenship among Afghan youth as alternatives to violence. This successful program is expanding from the municipality of Kabul to major provincial centers in Afghanistan. Technical assistance and training will be provided to improve solid waste management and street cleaning, renovate parks and green spaces, and improve management of water, power, and roads.
