USAID Invests In People To People Activities

USAID's Conflict Mitigation and Management (CMM) program is part of a worldwide effort to bring together individuals of different backgrounds from areas of conflicts in reconciliation activities​​.  These activities provide opportunities to address issues, reconcile differences, and promote greater understanding and mutual respect.  USAID West Bank and Gaza Mission and U.S. Embassy Tel Aviv invest in CMM grants that bring together Israelis and Palestinians to work on issues of common concern and to promote peaceful coexistence.

USAID West Bank and Gaza Mission and U.S. Embassy Tel Aviv are investing in Conflict Management and Mitigation (CMM) grants. These grants bring together Israelis and Palestinians to work on issues of common concern and promote peaceful coexistence. From 2004 to 2015 we have managed 99 CMM grants. From 2012 to 2014, 40,000 Israelis and Palestinians participated in CMM activities. More than 50% of the participants were women. The USAID West Bank and Gaza Mission: Promotes joint economic development through agriculture projects. Raises awareness and works on environmental protection projects. Trains doctors and other health and social workers to enhance their capacity. Supports education programs by providing training and developing integrated schools. Encourages teamwork and mutual understanding through sport activities. Connects youth through Information Technology trainings. 72% of all participants talk about a positive change in their perceptions. CMM is part of a worldwide effort to bring together individuals of different backgrounds from areas of conflicts to participate in reconciliation activities.
