In remote Faryab, Afghanistan's transportation officials and USAID's staff oversee the finishing of a new paved runway financed by USAID and the Asia Development Bank. The runway is welcomed by the "Boss of Meymaneh," airport Manager Sakhi Dad, who has been welcoming airplanes to Faryab for four decades.
