Almost one billion people -- more than one-seventh of the world's population -- suffer from chronic hunger. By 2050, the world's population is projected to increase to more than 9 billion, requiring up to a 60% increase in agricultural production. To help feed a growing population and improve nutrition for 1 billion undernourished people along the way, Feed the Future—the U.S Government's global hunger and food security initiative—is advancing big ideas and seizing big opportunities to tackle big problems through research and innovation.
