USAID Providing More Opportunities for Young Entrepreneurs

Some 296 youngsters, all USAID grant beneficiaries, will be able to present their products and services at an Entrepreneurs Fair in May, 2013. This was made possible following a Memorandum of Understanding signed by USAID Director Maureen A. Shauket and Deputy Prime Minister of Economy and Minister of Trade and Industry Kusari-Lila on April 22.

The signing of the MOU marks another step forward in the efforts to create jobs and career opportunities for Kosovo’s large youth population by co-financing a Young Entrepreneurs Fair. The trade fair will provide an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to network and exchange ideas with one another and to seek guidance and mentorship from business leaders. USAID has provided more than one million dollars (US $1,715,737) in small grants to assist young people start and sustain businesses; whereas 25% of the grants have been to women and 19% of the grants have been provided to ethnic minorities.
