WASHINGTON, D.C. - Tomorrow, USAID Deputy Administrator Donald Steinberg will give a keynote address at InterAction's 2011 Forum. Steinberg will speak at the opening plenary session, entitled "Shifting Landscape: Who are the Key Actors?" During the session, Steinberg will also present the Disabilities Inclusion Award to recognize the development community's innovative efforts to promote disability inclusion as a human rights issue.

Joining Deputy Administrator Steinberg at the session will be Paul Weisenfeld, Director of USAID's Bureau for Food Security. Nancy Lindborg, Assistant to the Administrator for the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA), will sit on an afternoon plenary session (3:30pm - 5:00pm) entitled, "From Failing States to Development - A Giant Leap."

On Thursday, August 11th, at InterAction's gala dinner and awards banquet, Deputy Administrator Steinberg will receive the Mildred Robbins Leet Award for the Advancement of Women. The award recognizes individuals who embody the characteristics of leadership and creativity that places gender equality at the center of international development and humanitarian assistance.

InterAction is the largest alliance of U.S.-based international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), with more than 190 members working in every developing country. The theme of this year's annual forum is Investing in Common Solutions.
