NEW DELHI, INDIA - Dr. Rajiv Shah, Administrator, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will begin a two-day trip to New Delhi on December 20 to meet with senior government officials, Indian thought leaders and innovators, entrepreneurs and business leaders, and members of non-governmental organizations. This visit is an opportunity for him to discuss the future of India-U.S development collaboration.
Recognizing India's significant role as a development innovations leader, particularly in innovations aimed at benefiting vulnerable populations, USAID is poised to partner with Indian public and private sectors to identify innovations and best practices that have a significant impact in India and globally.
Dr. Shah oversees USAID, the independent U.S. agency that provides economic, development and humanitarian assistance around the world in support of the foreign policy goals of the United States. He is the highest-ranking Indian-American in the Obama Administration. Dr. Shah was last in India in November 2010 as part of President Obama's visit to broaden and deepen the India-U.S. global strategic partnership.
