USAID Assistant Administrator Paige Alexander Travels to Belarus and Ukraine

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Paige Alexander will travel to Belarus and Ukraine from September 8-13.

From September 8-10, Assistant Administrator Alexander will lead an interagency delegation to Belarus with Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia Evelyn Farkas and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Thomas Melia. The delegation will conduct a wide range of meetings, including with the government of Belarus and civil society.

From September 11-13, Assistant Administrator Alexander will travel to Ukraine where she will meet with Ukrainian government officials, civil society, and international partners to discuss the upcoming parliamentary elections, ongoing humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in the East and other key assistance issues in Ukraine. On Saturday, September 13, Assistant Administrator Alexander will participate in and make remarks at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) Conference. During her trip, Assistant Administrator Alexander will also travel to Dnipropetrovsk to meet with senior local government officials and visit an internally displaced persons coordination center.
