USAID to Host Signature Event "Partnering to End Extreme Poverty" at the U.N. General Assembly

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), along with world leaders and development partners will host "Partnering to End Extreme Poverty and Achieve the Global Goals" alongside the United Nations General Assembly.  On September 27th, Acting Administrator Alfonso Lenhardt will deliver remarks to highlight how USAID will help lead the new approach to financing and development to end extreme poverty and achieve the "Global Goals" (or SDGs  - Sustainable Development Goals). He will be joined by other leaders in global development providing remarks and making announcements.    

The event will also serve as part of this week's release of USAID's Vision for Ending Extreme Poverty, which the White House featured in association with President Obama's pursuit of extreme poverty eradication in the fact sheet issued yesterday on the occasion of the visit of Pope Francis.

In conjunction, the event will be complemented by an Innovation Marketplace, featuring dynamic entrepreneurs/innovators with interactive examples of partnerships achieving ground-breaking results to eradicate extreme poverty.
