Administrator Shah Travels to South Africa and Zambia

WASHINGTON, D.C.​ - U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Rajiv Shah will travel to Johannesburg, South Africa, from June 29-30 to attend the Partnership for Newborn, Maternal and Child Health (PMNCH) Forum and to launch the first-ever Every Newborn Action Plan that was recently endorsed at the World Health Assembly. Dr. Shah will launch the Every Newborn Action Plan in collaboration with UNICEF, and the World Health Organization, in partnership with PMNCH, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, USAID​,​ and several other global organizations and constituents

From Johannesburg, Shah will join Dr. Jill Biden in Zambia. As announced on June 24 by the White House, Dr. Biden will travel to Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Sierra Leone from June 30 – July 7, 2014. Administrator Shah will travel with Dr. Biden in Zambia, along with Catherine Russell, U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women's Issues.
