WASHINGTON D.C. – On August 1st, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Dr. Rajiv Shah will be honored at the Inaugural Aspen Institute Madeleine K. Albright Global Development Lecture in Aspen Colorado. Administrator Shah will deliver the first ever lecture on “Open-Source Development”.
The Aspen Institute Madeleine K. Albright Global Development Lecture, given annually in Aspen Colorado at the Aspen Institute campus, recognizes an exceptional individual whose vision has provided breakthrough thinking to tackle the challenges of global development.
Beginning in this summer, the lecture will be hosted annually by the Aspen Institute on the opening evening of the Brookings Blum Global Poverty Roundtable. The Brookings Blum Roundtable, now in its ninth year, is a high level gathering of leading thinkers and actors in the area of global development. The goal of the lecture is to offer an opportunity for the broader Aspen community to hear a leading global development expert speak, as well as to provide an opportunity for a closer partnership between the Institute and the Brookings Blum Roundtable.
