Ambassador Delawie lent his support to the annual "Night of the Rising Stars" fundraiser for the Kosovo American Education Fund (KAEF) on September in downtown Pristina.  KAEF provides scholarships to promising young Kosovars to attend Master's Degree programs in the United States. USAID provided the initial funding for this program in 2004, which has so far granted 92 scholarships.  In his remarks, Ambassador Delawie praised the opportunities these scholarships afford, but urged Kosovo to expand access to quality education for more of its citizens.  He called on elected officials and citizens alike to improve the quality and relevance of education in Kosovo’s schools, and urged institutions of higher education to redouble their efforts to ensure fair admissions practices and academic integrity.
