On June 28th in Prizren, USAID Mission Director James Hope witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between EMPOWER Private Sector and DokuFest.

The MOU creates a new partnership between USAID’s EMPOWER Private Sector project and DokuFest—the largest film festival in Kosovo. Per the MOU, they will work together through a €7,500 grant to help local tour operators publicize Kosovo’s amazing tourism offerings to international media and DokuFest participants this summer during the festival.  Each year the festival fills the cinemas and sets up screening venues around the center of Prizren with a selection of more than 200 hand-picked films from around the world. It attracts thousands of international visitors every year, creating a great opportunity to showcase Kosovo as an up-and-coming tourist destination.
