USAID and the Government of Mexico continue to collaborate on climate change mitigation, accelerating Mexico’s efforts to transition to low emission development through investments in clean energy and sustainable land use. By pursuing low emission development, Mexico will reduce its greenhouse gas emissions without compromising its economic growth or social development.
Through the strategic allocation of limited resources and the development and expansion of public‐private partnerships,USAID programs will support specific goals laid out in Mexico’s 2013‐2018 National Development Plan. Likewise,USAID’s partnership with the Government of Mexico will help enhance Mexico’s emerging role in the international community and strengthen U.S. Government-Government of Mexico collaboration on international development themes.
