USAID and the Czech Development Agency have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide more educational opportunities for Kosovo’s Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian (RAE) community. U.S. Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson, USAID Mission Director Maureen A. Shauket and Czech Ambassador Jiří Doležel participated in the signing ceremony in Pristina on Monday, April 8, which is recognized as International Day of the Roma. The Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Office of the Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia (EUR/ACE) agreed to provide $270,274 for the program through the Emerging Donors Challenge Fund, which was established to intensify U.S. Government coordination and collaboration with emerging donors in Central and Eastern Europe. People in Need, a Czech NGO, will implement the program
