The residents of Caglavica/Cagllavice village in Gračanica/Graçanicë municipality have improved the life in their community through good local governance and good citizen cooperation with local officials to identify needs and priorities. On Friday, March 22, Deputy Mayor Igor Aritonović joined USAID Acting Mission Director Christopher Edwards in the inauguration of a new park and playground in Caglavica/Cagllavice, one of the largest villages in the municipality. The new facility not only will be a place for children to play and for families to gather; it also will serve as a venue for cultural activities. USAID supported the development of the park and playground through its Democratic Effective Municipalities Initiative, which promotes good local governance in Kosovo through projects designed to improve the skills of public servants and make local governments more transparent, responsive and accessible to the people they serve.
