Risk, Vulnerability and Resilience in the Limpopo River Basin - A Synthesis

The Limpopo River basin is a transboundary basin spanning the four countries of Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. The basin plays an important role in the economy of the region. Climate change however threatens the already degraded and water stressed basin. This study attempts to understand the ability of the basin to absorb climate and development shocks and adapt to these. The study is funded through the USAID Resilience in the Limpopo River Basin (RESILIM) program which aims to improve the resilience of ecosystems and livelihoods within the basin.
