Inuka Community-Based Orphans and Vulnerable Children Project (ICOP)

Inuka Community-based OVC project (ICOP) improve the overall wellbeing of 11,000 orphans and vulnerable children living in 4,150 households in Bondo and Rarieda Sub-counties of Siaya County. The project conducts household visits, home-based care and household economic strengthening to support orphans and vulnerable children and the families with whom they live.
 
Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the project aims to expand service coverage by working with parnters from non-governmental, faith and community-based organizations and relevant Government of Kenya Ministries, including the Ministries of Labor, Social Security and Services, Health, Education, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
 
The project also strengthens local community-based organizations so that they are better able to conduct needs assessments, make referrals and provide direct services for orphans and vulnerable children in their community.
