Overview

This elections manual is an update of the Center’s Managing Democratic Electoral Assistance: A Practical Guide for USAID published in 1995. It is based on a series of studies in four key areas of assistance: political party development, elections administration, local elections, and post-elections. While these assistance areas are interrelated, each represents a discrete set of issues. In addition, these studies were informed by a series of nine case studies, covering the spectrum of the assistance areas across the USAID-defined geographic regions.
