"If they didn't teach me to care for my child, my child could die," said Mama Sophie, a mother in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who learned to keep her premature baby warm and close using the Kangaroo Care method. Over the last five years, the USAID-funded Integrated Health Project in the DRC has worked to improve the basic health conditions of the Congolese people. Women's and children's health are among the project's priorities.
