WASHINGTON - The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will host an event at the White House to launch the Report of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) Peer Review of the United States.

The report covers an assessment of the entire U.S. development system in areas including the United States' vision and policies for development cooperation, bilateral and multilateral aid allocation, working in partnerships and humanitarian assistance. It makes clear that the Obama Administration's Presidential Policy Directive (PPD-6) elevates development as a strategic, economic and moral imperative for the country. Particular findings showcase a modern approach to financing for development and a results-oriented model informed by evaluation, effective program design, adaptability and leveraging partnerships, including with the private sector.

Mary Beth Goodman, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Development and Democracy at the National Security Council, will host the meeting. Wade Warren, Assistant to the Administrator for the Bureau of Policy, Planning and Learning at USAID, will moderate a panel discussion delving into the report's findings, with an eye toward shaping policy on some of the U.S. Government's highest priorities and the world's sustainable development challenges with the following panelists:
  • Eric Postel, USAID Associate Administrator,
  • Charlotte Petri Gornitzka, Chair, OECD DAC,
  • Nancy Lee, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Millennium Challenge Corporation,
  • Rob Mosbacher, Chairman, Mosbacher Energy Company and Co-Chair, Consensus for Development Reform, and
  • Elizabeth Littlefield, President and CEO, Overseas Private Investment Corporation.
