USAID Administrator Shah and Former USAID Administrators to Discuss Past, Present and Future of U.S. Involvement in International Development

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In honor of USAID's 50th Anniversary, Agency Administrator Dr. Rajiv Shah and former Administrators Henrietta Fore, Andrew Natsios, Brian Atwood (via video) and Peter McPherson will participate in a forum hosted by the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) and Chevron Corporation. The discussion will focus on USAID accomplishments in helping developing nations and advancing American values internationally over the past half-century as well as the future of the Agency and U.S. involvement in international development.

Each administrator will share the challenges and opportunities unique to their time in office and reflect on past and present development needs from health, entrepreneurship and crisis management to democracy promotion and food security.

Following a panel discussion moderated by CSIS Co-Director for the Project on US Leadership in Development and Schreyer Chair in Global Analysis, Dan Runde, questions will be taken from the audience.
