WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) held a swearing in ceremony today for Dr. Jim Barnhart as the new Mission Director for Lebanon. Counselor Hilda Arellano presided at the ceremony and administered the oath to Dr. Barnhart.

Islamabad, August 31, 2010 - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided nearly $2 million to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to support the humanitarian logistics operation and the provision of much-needed emergency relief supplies for health, shelter, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs. Flood waters washed out roads and bridges, leaving many villages stranded and unable to get aid. WASHINGTON, DC - Kevin Kelly has been sworn in as the Mission Director for USAID's Mission in Guatemala. He brings more than 30 years of development experience, having worked on projects in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Former Soviet Union.
In addition to over 25 years of experience as a USAID employee, Kelly has also worked with Chemonics, a USAID implementing partner, where he supervised a large development project in Peru and worked on initiatives involving legal and regulatory reform, judicial partnerships, privatization, and other issues.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI (August 25, 2010) - The first school built under an innovative public-private partnership was opened today by the Digicel Foundation and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). École Louis de Borno in Léogâne, the town which was epicenter of the earthquake, now stands ready to welcome 600 primary students when the new school year begins on October 4th.
