WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Agency for International Development Associate Administrator Mark Feierstein is in Panama City, Panama, to attend the Seventh Summit of the Americas.
Feierstein will join the U.S. delegation led by President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry. Feierstein will represent USAID during discussions with government counterparts, civil society, and the private sector on advancing the hemisphere's development goals and commitment to democracy, human rights, and economic growth. He will also attend the CEO Summit and the Civil Society Forum.
The Summit’s theme is “Prosperity with Equity: The Challenge of Cooperation in the Americas,” within which several sub-themes will be discussed, including education, health, energy, environment, migration, security, citizen participation, and democratic governance.
