KABUL, AFGHANISTAN- The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) has been awarded a three year, $6.29 million cooperative agreement by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement a Women’s Enterprise Development project in Afghanistan.

 

On October 2, 2005 the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s Vise President Mr. Zia Massaud, Minister of Youth Affairs, Amena Fazili, Deputy Minister of Women’s Affairs, Maleeha Sahak, Deputy Minister of Commerce, Shahbaz Hakim, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Mission Director, Barry Primm along with officials from Government of Afghanistan and International communities joint in a launching ceremony of the Afghanistan Women’s Business Federation.

 

The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) has been awarded a three year, $6.29 million cooperative agreement by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement a Women’s Enterprise Development project in Afghanistan.  The project, conceived by a consortium of women’s business associations, will establish a national federation to promote the full integration of women into the market economy.
